King of the Jungle (or King of the Beasts) was a working title of The Lion King. In 2012, two screenplays were released: one written in January 1990 by J.T. Allen, and another one in May 1990 by Allen and Ron Bass. Both early screenplays are extremely different from what the final version is today—violent, suggestive, featured blatant incest, and was essentially family-unfriendly. In the end, they were scrapped, and very few traces of story material remained to be ingrained into the final film.
